Process to reserve a house: We do not make verbal rental contracts. Our policy is that a reservation is confirmed only when we actually receive a deposit check or credit card along with the Reservation Form. Our policy is that a reservation is confirmed only when we actually receive a deposit check or credit card along with the Reservation Form.  If Reservation Forms are received on the same day, the first received will get the reservation, whether it arrives by mail or fax. If you want to make sure your reservation is received first, we recommend overnighting the envelope or faxing the Reservation Form along with a credit card. If you prefer to pay by check, I can also authorize a credit card for the Down Payment amount to hold your time frame until your check arrives in a couple days. Make sure you ask Cheryl which address to use. If you ask the post office for a certification of receipt, there is a possibility that it will delay receipt of your reservation if we are not home. Once deposit/payment is received, the online reservation calendar will be changed to reflect the booking. 

Rent is due 60 days prior to arrival (90 days prior for holiday bookings with the exception of Christmas and New Years which require payment in full at time of booking).  Our rates are subject to change without notice, and once a reservation is booked, the price is not negotiable.  When payment is due, the total amount due would be the total of the Rental Rate, Transient occupancy tax and Cleaning Fee, minus the Down Payment of $400, IF already paid.  That would total  $______________.    Date rent balance is due________________.  In the case of a reservation that is made two weeks or less before the arrival date, payment must be made by cashier's check, money order, or credit card.  The Security Deposit
can be secured via a Visa / Mastercard credit card, which is authorized for the security deposit amount of $300, but is not run. In the event that your occupation of the cabin results in damages and/or cleaning costs in excess of the amount of your security deposit, you are liable for additional charges.

If you are reserving this home in advance and you have paid by check, the credit card number to cover your Security Deposit is not needed until you call to get the current lockbox code number  where the keys for the house are stored . This should be done 2 weeks prior to your arrival date.

PETS
Usually there are no pets allowed in this home. If, however, the situation is discussed with Cheryl in advance of arrival, and it is agreed upon that the pet may accompany his owner, there will be a $25/day charge. It is also agreed that this pet may not, at any time, be left alone in the house, and all feces must be cleaned up outside. If not cleaned up, there will be a charge to do so.  If damages occurr, they will be charged from the security deposit credit card.

We ask that you understand that this home is located in an area that gets, at times, large amounts of snow. We contract with a company to make a pathway to the front door and to clear the driveway. However, caution must be exercised by our guests in icy conditions to assure that accidents do not occur. You understand that all usage of the facilities of the unit is entirely at your own risk and you hereby hold harmless and indemnify the owners and their representatives against any nature of claims whatsoever, by you or any members of your party, including but not limited to injuries, illness, loss of personal effects, and you also hold owners harmless against any and all other events or circumstances beyond the control of the owners as well as acts of God in connection with your occupancy of the unit.

<>Cancellation Policy: 
When we are notified 60 days prior first day of the rental, full refund of the rental amount will be made.  However, when cancellation is given for a shorter period of time, less than 60 days no refund will be made until the cabin is re-rented for an equal or greater period of time. A fee of $100 will be applied against all confirmed reservations that are canceled. A charge of $40 will be charged for any returned check. There are no refunds due to weather or road closures. All cancellations will be confirmed with the renter via phone. If you have not received a call, please contact us again to make sure we received the cancellation notice. Again, if you are worried about circumstances that will make your trip impossible, we highly recommend that you check out trip insurance! One great site is www.insuremytrip.com.

Rental is equipped with the following:  Bed Sizes: 2 Kings, 1 Queen, & 1 full  Sofa Sleeper. Linen: includes sheets, blankets, pillows, towels, washcloths & kitchen towels.  Fully equipped kitchen with utensils, microwave and dishwasher; Fireplace (wood is not provided); 4 Cable TV's, VCR, Stereo, Telephone, Washer and Dryer. Outside is a spa, and deck with table, chairs and Propane charcoal barbecue.

NOTE: Tahoe Ski Chalet owner, agents, and private contractors are not responsible for lost, misplaced or stolen articles or items left behind in the rented unit.  We cannot guarantee the working condition of electronic equipment, hot tubs, appliances, and phones, but we do assure that repairs will be made as soon as reasonably possible.  No refunds will be made due to equipment failure.  In the event of cancellation, pre-paid deposit and/or rent are subject to forfeiture.  A fee of $100 will be applied against all confirmed reservations that are canceled.  Refund of the remainder of the advance will be made only if written notice is received 60 days prior to arrival or if accommodations are re-rented.  Holiday cancellations must be made 90 days or more prior to arrival date.  The vacation tenants staying in the above property have read and understand the following terms of this agreement.  The rental will be left in a neat and clean condition upon departure.  The tenants also agree not to make any toll calls or accept any collect calls on the provided telephone.  Tenants are liable for any damage incurred during occupancy.  When paid by check, the security deposit will be returned approximately 3 weeks after check out, with any charges for telephone use, damages, or additional cleaning subtracted.  Reservations are not predicated upon weather or snow conditions.

SORRY, pets and smoking are not permitted in our home.  If there are indications of smoking or pets in the house the Security Deposit will be forfeited. If the keys are not returned, the cost of rekeying the lock and a new set (12) of keys will be deducted.  Sign this form and send it along with the reservation deposit.  Remember, the Balance Due amount is required 60 days (90 days in the case of holidays) before arrival.
